I work at a taffy shop, and let me tell you, putting the taffy on a puller is hella stressful. If you don’t get it just right, it can fall off and/or break the pullers arms. Sometimes it just falls apart on you. Plus, we have our taffy on display so people are always watching.
What does gender politics have to do with candy? She makes a great product, why complain about "old white men"? They would have ignored a young man as well. They did not take her seriously because she was a small distributor. It had nothing to do with her gender. Congrats on her success but her gender was not a help or a hindrance.
